Breyer Kehinde – The Newest Web Special Run

Breyer Kehinde – The Newest Web Special Run

Breyer Kehinde 712255

Kehinde is Breyer’s newest Web Special Run and is product number 712255. He is part of the new Wild Animal Series which is open to a broader range of patterns than the Big Cat Series. Kehinde is based on the Clock Horse or the American Saddlebred Stallion mold sculpted by Kathleen Moody. He is painted to resemble a wild okapi. At first glance, I didn’t particularly care for Kehinde but I’m starting to warm up to him and will be entering for a chance at purchasing him. Kehinde is open to Breyer 2018 Collector’s Club Members who may enter enter the lottery once a day through October 7’th for a chance at purchasing him. Winners will be notified on October 8th.  Kehinde is priced at $175 plus postage. Breyer recently recalculated their shipping costs (as well as their entire website!) and I’m unsure how much shipping will cost. Historically, shipping for the Web Special Runs cost around $17.50 for domestic shipping. Current Breyer 2018 Collector’s Club Members may click this link to see Kehinde’s listing on Breyer’s website. Here is what Breyer has to say about Kehinde:

Our world is home to many fascinating creatures. With landscapes from deserts to rainforests, savannas to mountains, and everything in between, it’s no surprise that the world’s animals are as diverse as the landscape! Our new Wild Animal Series is a celebration of wildlife everywhere.

The first release in Wild Animal Series is Kehinde, and he’s inspired by the enchanting and elusive okapi. Artist Karen Williams designed this piece, and gave him an incredibly realistic coat. Just like the okapi, Kehinde has zebra-like striping on his legs and hindquarters. His richly-shaded coat has a velvety appearance, fading into his dusky face. With his alert appearance and expression, Kehinde truly evokes the look of the okapi! Kehinde has “Wild Animal Series” printed on his belly.

Breyer Sanibel – New America the Beautiful Web Special Run

Breyer Sanibel – New America the Beautiful Web Special Run

Breyer Sanibel 712254

Breyer released the next Web Special Run, Sanibel. He is product number 712254. Sanibel was on display in the Collector’s Club Tent at BreyerFest 2018 and in my opinion, looked better in person than he does in Breyer’s pictures. He is the Breyer Huckleberry Bey mold in a pearly white dapple grey. In person, the pearl to his coat was not at all overwhelming. The pearl seemed to be a bit much on the BreyerFest 2018 Tent Special Run Dead Heat in the palomino appaloosas color.  The Huckleberry Bey mold comes with the dreaded clear plastic disc stand which I highly recommend replacing with a resin stand. Sanibel is limited to 350 pieces and is priced at $135. I assume that the shipping cost will be $17.50.

Breyer Sanibel 712254

The last horse released in the America Beautiful Series was Rialto. He was the Totilas mold in a gorgeous glossy black leopard appaloosa. I was lucky enough to be drawn for Rialto but haven’t had the chance to open him  yet, eek. Breyer really did a spectacular job on his finish work. I do still think that my favorite horse in the America the Beautiful Series was Rainier (which we do have 1 available of, I’m keeping the other!)

Current Breyer 2018 Collector’s Club Member may enter once a day through July 22nd, 2018 for a chance to purchase Sanibel. Make sure you are logged in to your Collector’s Club account and click this link to go directly to Sanibel’s page.

The Eighth Release in the America the Beautiful Series

In 2018, Breyer’s America the Beautiful Series celebrates special places of beauty and wonder – our National Parks & Forests! From deep, dry canyons to soaring snowcapped mountains, to rolling hills and plunging waterfalls, these beautiful horses honor our country’s diverse landscape. Varied like our nation’s scenery, the horses in this series will delight your imagination and encourage you to explore!

The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge is located on Florida’s Sanibel Island. This barrier island is home to many migratory birds and mangrove trees. Encompassing over 6,000 acres, visitors to the refuge can see Roseate spoonbills year-round. These wading birds have a stunning pink coloring that intensifies as they age. Sanibel Island is also known for its incredible shell-covered beaches.

Breyer’s Sanibel is a pearly dapple rose grey – a nod to the natural beauty found on the island. With his mane and tail blowing in the breeze, you can just imagine him prancing along the surf at sunset! Sanibel comes with a clear removable base, and his belly is marked “Sanibel 2018.”

Limited Edition: 350 pieces

Callahan – Breyer 2018 Collectors Club Exclusive Gambler’s Choice

Callahan – Breyer 2018 Collectors Club Exclusive Gambler’s Choice

Squee, it’s CALLAHAN! Gosh, I’ve been truly terrible about keeping up on Breyer news. However, Callahan truly deserves a blog post of his own so here we are! He is the Breyer 2018 Collector’s Club Exclusive Gambler’s Choice model. If the same pattern follows as past year, this will be the only Classics Gamblers Choice model offered for 2018. However, there has been a Traditional Scale Gambler’s Choice Holiday model released released by Breyer these past few years. The 2017 holiday season featured Emerald, Amethyst and Sapphire (original blog post here).

The Breyer 2017 Gambler’s Choice model was Calvin (original Calvin blog post here).

Breyer Calvin 712237

The Breyer 2016 Gambler’s Choice model was one of my very favorites, Scotty (original Scotty blog post here)!

Breyer Scotty 712231

Similar to Scotty, Breyer kept with the ‘mini me’ theme and this time features popular colors featured on the Wintersong or Othello mold (the current release on the Wintersong mold is Xavier the Mystical Unicorn). What is especially neat about Callahan is that he features the same mold Wintersong where as Scotty featured three different molds (Cleveland Bay, Strapless and Nokota.) To my knowledge, Calvin was not a miniature model of any particular model horses. Callahan is the Breyer Classics Shire B mold in a tantalizing trio of colors. For reference, the Breyer Classics Shire A mold does not have his head tucked like Callahan. An example of the Breyer Classics Shire A mold is Triton.

The three colors that Callahan comes in are:

Matte silver bay with silver and blue ribbons and bobs. He is a miniature version of the highly sought after Silverado.

Glossy Silver Filigree with red and green ribbons and bobs. He is a miniature version of Silver Snow (I regret selling this one!)

Glossy Palomino Sabino Pinto with gold and purple ribbons and bobs. He is a miniature version of Pamplemousse.

Breyer Pamplemousse

Direct from Breyer, Callahan’s price is $30 plus $10.95 for domestic shipping (boo FedEx SmartPost!) This brings the total to $40.95 which I feel is quite reasonable. I’m hoping for the silver bay Callahan and I’m betting that many other people are as well. Some day I will own a Breyer Silverado but I would be thrilled with a miniature version for now. Let us know who your favorite color is and what color you receive. I should start a poll for this! Have I mentioned SQUEEE?!

Here is what the Breyer website has to say about Callahan (Breyer website link here):

Everyone’s a winner with this gambler’s choice Web Special! This powerful Classics Shire comes in three striking finishes, each inspired by special releases of the fan-favorite model, Othello! Breyer Rialto New Web Special Run Appaloosa Totilas

Breyer Rialto New Web Special Run Appaloosa Totilas

Breyer Rialto 721153

Meet Rialto, the most recent Breyer Web Special Run. He is product number 712253 and is the seventh release in the America the Beautiful Series. Breyer made a comment on their Instagram account regarding watching their account after the lightning fast sell out time of Koh-i-Noor. I can’t help but wonder if Rialto was the surprise horse that Breyer was referring too. Like Koh-i-Noor, Realto is on the Totilas mold and has a glossy finish. I was just thinking last week how we need a new regular run on the Totilas mold but a Web Special Run will suffice! I missed out on Koh-i-Noor and I am hoping that I am drawn for Rialto. Rialto is the Totilas mold in a gorgeous glossy black leopard appaloosa with pinking and mottling. He is limited to 350 pieces. I’m sure that he comes with the dreaded clear plastic disc for a stand but I have an extra resin stand for Totilas just waiting (fingers crossed) for a Rialto to make use of 🙂

The Seventh Release in the America the Beautiful Series

In 2018, Breyer’s America the Beautiful Series celebrates special places of beauty and wonder – our National Parks & Forests! From deep, dry canyons to soaring snowcapped mountains, to rolling hills and plunging waterfalls, these beautiful horses honor our country’s diverse landscape. Varied like our nation’s scenery, the horses in this series will delight your imagination and encourage you to explore!

The third release in the 2018 series draws its inspiration from Washington’s Olympic National Park. The park covers almost a million acres, and includes coastline, mountains, and rain forests. The ocean meets the coastal forest at Rialto Beach. Views are punctuated by the incredible sea stacks, which are large rocky formations that jut out of the water near the shore. Worn down by the waves and wind, they stand silent watch over the coast.

Rialto’s unique glossy leopard Appaloosa coat is a tribute to Rialto Beach. The beach is covered with round black basalt rocks, similar to Rialto’s leopard spotting! Rialto comes with a clear base, and his belly is marked with “Rialto 2018.”

Your Price: $175.00
Limited Edition: 350 Pieces

Current Collector’s Club Members may enter for the chance to purchase Rialto once per day through May 21st. Winner’s will be notified by 5pm EST on May 22nd. The price to purchase Rialto direct from Breyer is $175 plus shipping. I assume that shipping will be $17.50 but I was pleasantly surprised to find that Starlet only cost $14.50 to ship.

Breyer Starlet – New 2018 Collector’s Club Special Run

Breyer Starlet – New 2018 Collector’s Club Special Run

Breyer Starlet 712262

Today, Breyer released a new special run for Breyer 2018 Collector’s Club Members. Here name is Starlet and she is The Winner of Who Wore It Best! I hope that I was the only one to misread Breyer’s announcement title! Starlet is a bay blanket appaloosa on the Croi Damsha or Connemara Mare mold. She is product number 712262. Breyer describes the color as a bay dun appaloosa. I’m not sure if this color exists but it does seem a fitting name. I don’t see any primitive markings or barring but I do see some brown shading at the top of her tail.

Breyer Starlet 712262

This mold was originally sculpted for the Breyer Premier Club by Sarah Minkiewicz and is 1 of only 2 molds sculpted by Sarah for Breyer to date. The current run on this mold is Banks Vanilla.

Breyer Banks Vanilla 1753

Breyer 1753 Banks Vanilla – $35.99

The other mold sculpted by Sarah Minkiewicz is Imperador das Aguas JM or Mangalarga Marchador who was the BreyerFest 2016 Celebration Horse.

Breyer Imperador das Aguas JM 711234

Breyer Imperador das Aquas JM – $44.95

Starlet is priced at $75 plus $14.50 for domestic shipping. This brings the price to $89.50 including postage. There is a limit of one Starlet per account. Having said that, I forgot to reserve my Fletcher from Breyer and would be interested in trading a Starlet for a glossy Fletcher.

Make sure you are logged into your Breyer Collector’s account and you can view Starlet directly at this link. Here is what Breyer has to say about Starlet:

The Winner of Who Wore it Best!

Exclusively for Breyer Collector Club members!

Last summer we asked you to choose from three beautiful – yet very different – models who were all sporting the same deco: Strapless, the Connemara Mare, and the Fighting Stallion. We’ve tallied the votes and the people have spoken – the Connemara Mare “Starlet” is the winner! This Collector Club Special Run has a beautifully-shaded bay dun blanket appaloosa coat and striped hooves, and certainly “wore it best.” A starlet through-and-through, this feisty Connemara mare can’t help but be the center of attention!

Limit one (1) Starlet model per Collector Club member, while supplies last

*Note: Offer available to valid, current 2017/2018 and 2018 Collector Club members in good standing only, while supplies last. Item may not be available when you visit the website. Starlet is excluded from all discounts, promotional codes, sales, and/or special offers at this time. Any remaining models which have not been purchased by Collector Club members may be sold to general consumers on BreyerHorses.com, at Reeves sole discretion.
