Breyer Java – Nokota Is The Next In The Big Cat Series!

Meet Java, the fifth release in the Breyer Big Cat Series. He is the popular Nokota mold and is inspired with the color and pattern of a panther. Current Breyer 2017 Collector’s Club Members  may enter for a chance to purchase Java once a day until September 17, 2017. There will only be 255 of Java produced. His purchase price is $175 plus postage. Interestingly, this is the smallest production number in the Big Cat Series thus far with the past horses’ production numbers and price being:

• Kimbia 275 – $165
• Kashmir 275 $175
• Padma 275 – $175
• Leandro 280 $180 postage paid

Similar to past Web Special Runs, I anticipate that cost for shipping for Java will be $17.50. I really like Java and will be entering with the hopes of winning the chance to purchase one!

Fifth in the Breyer Big Cats Series, Java is a stunning panther.  Panthers can be either black leopards, found throughout Africa and Asia, or black jaguars, found in South America.  Melanism is the genetic term for the gene that causes the black variation.  Jaguars are distinguished by spots within the circles in their coat pattern;  leopards do not have this.

Java is a black jaguar, and his breathtaking coat reflects an extensive spotted pattern.  He will draw you in with his amazing coloring and golden green eyes!  He features the Limited Edition Breyer Big Cat Series pad print on his belly in black.

Breyer Test Run Cantering Welsh Pony POA Collector’s Club Lottery

Breyer is once again offering current Breyer Collector’s Club members the chance at a true test color! This one is the Cantering Welsh Pony mold which is one of Breyer’s iconic molds sculpted by Chris Hess. This test color is unique in that it is an older mold that was painted within the past 5 years. How neat is that? Collector’s Club members may enter the lottery to purchase this horse once a day until September 10th, 2017. The winner will have the opportunity to purchase her for $850 including postage.

Breyer test run models are initial decos painted up to see how a particular color might look on a particular sculpture.  Or, they may be created to test out a painting technique or new colorway.  Not all test run models are used, and they may vary over time as different painting techniques are developed and tested.  Test run models are sold as is, with several photos and descriptions of any wear.  We’ve decided not to attempt to touch up older test runs as we’ve found that this can alter their character and uniqueness. Each model has a fixed price and interested members enter a random draw for the ability to purchase the test piece.  We enjoy sharing these special pieces with you and hope you enjoy them!

The Cantering Welsh Pony is an all-time fan favorite.  Athletic and cute with her braided mane and tail, she’s come in a variety of colors through the years since her debut in the 1970s.  This freehand bay leopard appaloosa pattern is a test run created in the last five years.  She sports a pink muzzle, striped hooves, bi-colored eyes and the CHESS mold mark on the inside right hind leg.  She’s in top condition with no visible flaws.  Her pretty painted coat is truly unique!

Breyer Calaveras + Sugarmaple & Other News

We have had a lot of inquiries about Calaveras, the 2017 Halloween Horse. Originally, he was slated to ship from Breyer in August. August came and went and we still hadn’t received a shipment notification from Breyer. I spoke with Breyer representative who told me that the ship date on Calaveras was again pushed back. The most current date that I have for Calaveras shipping from Breyer is mid September. I apologize for the delay and truly hope that he will be shipping from us by the end of September. We are completely sold out of Calaveras. Thank you to all that ordered him.

We are also sold out of Sugarmaple. We were only allocated 12 of this model and all of our Sugarmaples were snapped up within 24 hours of our listing them.

Many of you have asked about Markus, the Brick and Mortar special run on the new Shannondell mold. We will be receiving Markus but he cannot be sold online. We will have him available in our retail store.
As of today, Calaveras, Sugarmaple and Markus are all due to be shipped from Breyer in September. If you ordered one of these models with any other horses, your other horses are being held for shipment until the Fall (or Halloween!) releases are in stock.

We placed our order for the Breyer Christmas Horse Winter Wonderland in too late to be guaranteed. We are wait listed for him and are not accepting any presales for Winter Wonderland.

We have been very very busy here. We have a lot of horses that need to be listed including some retired Copperfox Horses. We will only have Toby available for in person sale and will not be ordering Rupert unless someone specifically requests him. We anticipate having Toby available for sale at BreyerWest. We also recently acquired 2 collections of Breyer Horses. One was around 200 horses and the other was a small collection of 23 horses. We have a handful of new custom Breyer Steampunk Horses by Elayne Watrus to photograph and list as well.
