Happy Halloween 2016!

Happy Halloween from everyone here at Aidan’s Toy Trove! That includes from both the 2 and the 4 legged critters =) It has been raining here for weeks. We are hoping for a brief break in the rain tonight to slip out and Aidan out Trick or Treating.

As we have been doing for several years, we went to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out our pumpkins. The rain was so bad this year that the owner of the Pumpkin Patch said they lost a lot of pumpkins and had a much lower turn out rate than normal. As we are a small home business, much like the Pumpkin Patch, this saddened me.
Aidan built a Minecraft Creeper decoration this year.
He used the left over cardboard remnants from the boxes that were used to receive and pack Breyer horses this month.
Hubby dressed up as an Star Wars Star Trooper and Aidan dressed up as a Death Trooper. I dressed up as Rey but I managed to evade getting my picture taken.
There is a plus side to being behind the camera, hehe!
That’s it for now. We have some more Halloween preparations to do still and I best get busy.

The Breyer 2017 Stablemate Club Is Now Open!

The Breyer 2017 Stablemate Club is now open to Collector’s Club members to join! There will be a Gambler’s Choice special run similar to Diesel, a clearwear decorator and a brand new sculpt by Maggie Bennett. I love Maggie’s work, Breyer can count me in the Stablemate Club for 2017! Maggie Bennett has sculpted so many lovely Arabians, I wonder if we might see a new Stablemate Arabian in 2017? The teaser picture is of Coco, a glossy bay pinto G1 Thoroughbred Mare. The Stablemate Club is $30 to join. $5 from the deposit will be applied to each of the 6 Special Runs bringing the cost to each Stablemate to $15 plus shipping. I believe that the International membership is shipped in batches to make the cost of shipping for reasonable.

Here is what Breyer says about the 2017 Stablemate Club:
The Club will have six releases, one every other month, and will include a Gambler’s Choice (you’ll receive one of four colors, randomly selected), a clearware decorator and a brand new sculpture by Maggie Bennett! These detailed new pieces are exclusively available to Stablemates Collector’s Club members only, so don’t miss out!
In addition to the great models, members will also receive insider information, and the opportunity to enter a raffle for a unique Stablemates collectible!
Join by 11:59pm EST, 12/31/16!
Each model is only $20, and is shipped to your home in a satin drawstring bag with Club logo. To join, you must have a valid Collector Club membership purchased on or after July 1, 2016, and sign up by December 31, 2016 with a non-refundable deposit of $30. We’ll deduct $5 from each model when it ships, so you pay $15 per model (plus S&H). This program is a continuity club which means you are obligated to purchase all six models.
First Shipment for US members is in January 2017, with subsequent shipments every other month. You must purchase an international club membership if you are shipping outside the US.

New Breyer Web Exclusive Coeur de Lion!

Breyer released a brand new Web Special exclusive. His name is Coeur de Lion and he is the Classics Terrang mold which was sculpted by Maureen Love. His color was inspired by the Lionheart and he is a beautiful glossy dunalino color. I think he is quite dashing. Breyer is offering Coeur de Lion to Collector’s Club members first. Leftovers will be offered to the general public on November 16th, 2016. I personally don’t see him selling out early but you never know!

Coeur de Lion seems to be in the same series as Cosette and Julien and Sophia. I have both of these horses available in my eBay Store. Cosette and Julien and Sophia are Classics Scale sculpts by Maureen Love. Their finishwork was designed by Thomas Bainbridge. As far as I know, Lionheart nor Coeur de Lion had their finish work designed by Tom. Please correct me if I am wrong!
I’m very pleased that Breyer is bringing back these beloved old Maureen Love molds!

Meet Gideon, he is the second Breyer 2016 Collector’s Club Exclusive. He is the Smart Chic O’lena mold in a pretty bay or perhaps grulla pinto. He is available to purchase to 2016 Collector’s Club members. Breyer states that Gideon will be limited to 1,000 and will be available while supplies last. I wonder if there are more than 1,000 Collector’s Club members?? Gideon is priced at $65 + $14.50 domestic shipping. Will you be adding this handsome boy to your collection?
