Breyer Test Color Quarter Horse Gelding Lottery For Collector’s Club

Welcome to a new week everyone! Breyer once again holding a Test Color lottery for current Collector’s Club Members. This one is the old Quarter Horse Gelding molding in an equally old style red roan! He is direct from the Breyer Archives and will include a COA.

Breyer nicknamed this piece Red. Current Collector’s Club members may enter once a day until October 27th for a chance to win the right to purchase this horse. The Test Color Quarter Horse Gelding’s purchase price is $850 which includes shipping and handling. I find it nice that Breyer includes the cost of shipping on their Test Color lotteries. Exclusively for Breyer Collector Club members!  Breyer test run models are initial decos painted up to see how a particular color might look on a particular sculpture.  Or, they may be created to test out a painting technique or new colorway.  Not all test run models are used, and they may vary over time as different painting techniques are developed and tested.  Test run models are sold as is, with several photos and descriptions of any wear.  We’ve decided not to attempt to touch up older test runs as we’ve found that this can alter their character and uniqueness. Each model has a fixed price and interested members enter a random draw for the ability to purchase the test piece.  We enjoy sharing these special pieces with you and hope you enjoy them!

Red, as we’ve nicknamed him, is a test color Quarter Horse Gelding.  He sports a vintage splatter red roan coat reminiscent of 1970’s Breyer roans, with a pink muzzle and grey hooves.  His halter is hand painted black with gold hardware.  Red has been gracing our archive for nearly ten years and he’s ready for a change of pace! He is mostly free from flaws.  He has a small rub that is hard to see but that can be felt on the point of the right hip.  He’s also got a couple of minor hoof edge rubs.  Otherwise he’s in great shape and excited about discovering a new home!  Red is priced at $850 and comes with a certificate of authenticity.  Only 1 piece is available for purchase.

Breyer Cornelius Micro Run Halloween Brighty

Meet Cornelius, a Breyer Micro Run Halloween Brighty! He is the beloved Brighty mold dressed up in candy corn colors! Cornelius is product number 430047. He is available to purchase by lottery to current Breyer Collector’s Club members. He is limited to just 50 pieces.

Collector’s Club members may enter once a day for the chance to purchase Cornelius from October 17th until October 19th, 2017. Winners will be drawn and notified on October 2oth. The purchase price of Cornelius is $195 + shipping. Since Breyer seems to base the cost of shipping on the value of the model, I believe that the shipping cost will be $17.50. Duende cost $17.50 to ship and Cornelius is in a similar price bracket. This would bring the total price of Cornelius to  $212.50.

Historically, Breyer has made their micro runs on non equine molds. While Brighty isn’t a horse, he’s about as close to a horse as I have seen on a micro run! Maurice the Collie dog was a Breyer 2016 Micro Run.

I have yet to be drawn for any of the Breyer Micro Run lotteries but I will be entering for Cornelius! Be sure to be logged into your Breyer Collector’s Club account and you can see Cornelius directly at this link.

Breyer Fletcher Available For Preorder Glossy OR Matte Finish!

Wow, that was fast! Fletcher is now available for preorder for Breyer 2017 / 2018 Collector’s Club Members. Members who joined on or after April 2017 may order Fletcher and 2018 member are also eligible. You can read my original blog post on Fletcher here. Make sure you are logged into your Breyer Collector’s Club and you can see Fletcher at this link.

I’m delighted to say that Fletcher will be offered in both a matte AND glossy finish. Kudos to those of you guessed glossy and matte might be an option. I certainly didn’t expect it! If you want the glossy finish, you must preorder by November 30, 2017 and select the glossy finish. Otherwise a matte Fletcher will be reserved for you (pending your deposit). I’m opting for a glossy Fletcher. Fletcher’s full purchase price from Breyer is $75 plus shipping. If shipping cost is consistent with the price Breyer has been charging this year, domestic shipping will be $14.50. Breyer is only asking for a $25 deposit now with the balance due when Fletcher is released. Will you choose glossy or matte Fletcher?

Breyer did not specify a release date for Fletcher. This year, Moondance was released in April. Griffin was release in October. My best guess is that Fletcher will be released in the Spring of 2018.
