This horse sculpture started life as a Breyer Traditional Scale 1:9 Breyer Silver. He was customized to a one of a kind Steampunk Horse by Elayne Watrus. This piece is very different from Elayne’s other work. He is sculpted and painted to look like hammered silver! He has a beautiful leather like tack sculpted on which includes 2 leg wraps, a headpiece and a blanket draped over his back. The blanket is slightly flexible, much like real leather! The blanket has a beautifully stamped pattern and studs on the top. The sides are decorated with gears, screws and studs. Silver has a sculpted heart hidden on his underside between his front legs. He has a long windblown wire mane and a tail decorated with a variety of gems, washers, bolts and other metal fixings.
Elayne has successfully marketed her clay creations for many years and her expertise with the medium are immediately apparent. This particular Custom Breyer Steampunk Silver is not as intricate and time intensive as some of Elayne’s other pieces. He is priced accordingly.
