BreyerFest 2018 Straight Bet – Special Run #1 Revealed!
Breyer revealed the first BreyerFest 2018 Special Run! His name is Straight Bet and my is he lovely. He is the new Premier Club Duende mold which was sculpted by the talented Mindy Berg.
Straight Best is a glossy dappled chestnut. This stunning Lusitano is on my must have list!

Straight Bet is a richly shaded liver chestnut with dapples and a shiny coat of gloss, an uncommon but stunning color for the Lusitano breed! The model is on the lovely Spanish Stallion mold (745) sculpted by Mindy Berg.
Straight Bet is the first of our Special Run models and there’s a lot more models to be unveiled in the run-up to BreyerFest Off to the Races!

We have been woefully behind on listing our beautiful selection of Breyer Custom Steampunk Horses by Elayne Watrus. The last batch of horses that I received from Elayne all had exceptional beauty and attention to detail. To those of you local to Crescent City, Elayne Watrus once called Crescent City home. It’s amazing to me how this sleepy little town produced such a talented and unique artist as well as a wonderful friend. If you have visited Aidan’s Toy Trove Retail Store, we have one of Elayne’s Steampunk Creations on display in our glass display case. Bonus points if you can show me which Breyer Horse the horse in the cabinet was made from! The original Breyer is on our shelves!
I listed a very beautiful Breyer Custom Steampunk Weathergirl to eBay as an auction. The auction ends on the evening of Sunday, January 21st. The starting bid is $399.95, well below what Elayne’s last auction piece sold for. I find that pictures speak better than words. Vote Aidan’s Toy Trove Best New Business For 2017
It’s hard to believe that 2017 has come and gone. Welcome 2018! Last year was such a whirlwind that I have hard time remembering what happened. On July 4th, we opened our Aidan’s Toy Trove retail store location in downtown Crescent City, California. Word spread slowly about our new toy store but we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of foot traffic for the holiday season. Thank you to everyone that took the time to come and check us out. It was a blast to see so many familiar faces as well as meeting new people. Our store has changed a lot since we first opened. We still have a nice selection of Breyer horses but we have an amazing amount of new product too. Those who saw the store at opening commented that they barely recognized it anymore!
Last Thursday, we received an astonishing phone call from the Crescent City Chamber of Commerce. We were nominated for the Best New Small Business award for 2017. There are numerous other deserving new businesses in the running. We would be flattered to receive your vote but we would be equally as happy to see any of the other businesses recognized for this award.
