BreyerFest 2017 Special Run Hint #8

BreyerFest 2017 Special Run Hint #8

BreyerFest 2017 Holi Elephant

Today, Breyer revealed a hint rather than a Sneak Peak for the next BreyerFest 2017 Special Run. It will be on an ‘iconic’ Chris Hess mold and will be named after a region in West Bengal. Any guesses?

Breyer 35 King Fighting Stallion

If I had to hazard a guess, I would go with the beloved Fighting Stallion or King mold of which we happen to have a lovely example of on eBay.

The BreyerFest Blog has this to say:

Our next special run model is on one of Chris Hess’s most iconic sculpts. And because we’re feeling generous this fine Thursday morning we’ll let you know that the model is named after a region in West Bengal with a rich history. Any guesses? Keep checking the Breyer Blog as we unveil more later this week!

As there wasn’t a picture to share today, I posted a picture of Holi the Elephant 🙂

BreyerFest 2017 Special Run Holi the ELEPHANT!

BreyerFest 2017 Special Run Holi the ELEPHANT!

BreyerFest Holi

BreyerFest 2017 Holi ElephantBreyer revealed the BreyerFest 2017 Sneak Peek #7 to be Holi the Elephant. How cool is that?! Off the top of my head, I think that the Elephant mold has only been largely released in a variety of greys and copenhagen blue! There are some other very rare unique colors of Breyer Elephants floating around. Pictured below is Nimbo who we happen to have listed for sale on eBay.

Holi will be sold at BreyerFest 2017 in the Breyer Bazaar which I believe is the popup tent. Historically, I personally have had bad luck acquiring BreyerFest popup tent special runs but we shall see what luck this year brings!

Here is what the BreyerFest Blog has to say about Holi:

Let’s meet the first member of our Breyer Bazaar line-up – Holi!

Holi is a warm grey elephant with a spattering of freckles across the face and ears. Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates the triumph of light over dark/good over evil and signifies the start of spring. The festival is celebrated throughout India and concludes with a day of fun that involves celebrants chasing each other with colored powder and water.

Holi is decorated with a colorful spring pattern of flowers, plants, and stars capturing the spirit of this beautiful Hindu celebration and as a nod to the painted elephant festival that is held each year at Holi in Jaipur, India.

There will be plenty more friends joining Holi at the Breyer Bazaar so keep an eye on the Breyer Blog!

Here is a link to my blog post about Holi’s initial sneak peek.

BreyerFest 2017 Sneak Peek #7 – Holi a Decorator!

BreyerFest 2017 Sneak Peek #7 – Holi a Decorator!

BreyerFest 2017 Sneak Peek

Breyer revealed another BreyerFest Sneak Peek today! This one is named Holi and is a decorator. He or she appears to have a floral Indian pattern of some sort.

Personally, the thought of a decal make me a bit nervous. Breyer had a rather widespread problem with the Estrela Do Carnival Pegasus last year. On top of his paint not being properly sealed, the decals had a lot of wrinkles and bubbles. We picked up quite a few of this model and were greatly saddened to find that around 70% of our Estrela Do Carnival’s were severely flawed. Here is a picture of the type of decal wrinkles that I am referring to. The looked a bit like veins.

Please note, the picture above is the Breyer Estrela Do Carnival, not Breyer’s latest sneak peak ;-p On another note, we hand inspected all of our Breyer Estrela Do Carnivals and only the best of the bunch are being sold as being in new condition. The severely flawed ones are for sale and at a reduced price and are marketed as flawed.

Here is what the BreyerFest Blog has to say about the BreyerFest 2017 Sneak Peek #7:

Today marks the conclusion of the Hindu festival of Holi, a spring festival known as “the festival of colors.” It signifies the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring, and for our next sneak peek, we wanted to give all you Breyer fans a splash of color to remind you of brighter spring days ahead. Can you guess what mold Holi is? Keep checking the BreyerFest blog for the reveal later this week!

So any guesses on what mold Holi will be?? I can’t even fathom a guess!

BreyerFest 2017 Special Run Kaalee Revealed!

BreyerFest 2017 Special Run Kaalee Revealed!

BreyerFest 2017 Kaalee

Breyer revealed their latest BreyerFest 2017 Sneak Peek. Meet Kaalee! She is the Breyer Premier Club Yasmin mold in a gorgeous black rabicano color that was designed by Lesli Kathman. I think Kaalee is just stunning. I will definitely be trying for her  and  Vahana at BreyerFest 2017!

Here is what the BreyerFest Blog has to say about Kaalee:

Say hello to our next Special Run model, Kaalee!

Kaalee means black in Hindi, and while the meaning is simple, the model (like the Hindi word) is much more beautiful and exotic!

Kaalee is on the Shagya Arabian (mold 740) in a black rabicano pattern that has been “boosted” by sabino. She has four white stockings and a large blaze, as well as roaning on her belly, chest, and neck. This beautiful model was designed by Lesli Kathman.

Stay tuned to the BreyerFest blog as we continue to unveil more surprises this month!

For those of you unfamiliar with the mold, here is a short video of the Breyer Premier Club Yasmin:

Breyer Custom Horse Buchiko – Japanese Thoroughbred

Breyer Custom Horse Buchiko – Japanese Thoroughbred

Breyer Custom Buchiko

A custom Breyer horse is an original finish model horse that has been customized in some way. This can range from a horse that has only been repainted to a Breyer that has been drastically resculpted. Here at Aidan’s Toy Trove, my personal Breyer Collection consists of these uniquely painted and resculpted model horses.

I received a brand new custom Breyer in the mail. Watch us unbox this brand new Breyer Custom for the very first time!

This model horse was made from the Breyer Stablemate Citation mold. She was customized by the Jennifer Read of Uniforn Farms. She is a portrait model of the real Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse mare, Buchiko.

Buchiko Japanese Thoroughbred Racehorse

Buchiko’s dam is Shirayukihime, the translation of her name is ‘Snow White’. Shirayukihime’s color did not turn white over time. Instead, she was white at birth which is very rare indeed! Shirayukihime has passed on her unique coloration to all but one of her offspring, the most successful being Buchiko. Buchiko is 100% Thoroughbred and races in Japan. She has won 3 of 11 starts and taken 2nd place twice. You can read more about the real Buchiko and her unique colored at http://www.horsetalk.co.nz/2016/09/01/white-thoroughbred-race-winning-tradition/#axzz4ao2xZxUc
